Choosing A Right Bike Rack For Your Vehicle
Posted in General on October 29th, 2011 by admin – Be the first to commentThere are three main categories available in the bicycle racks to purchase such as roof rack, hitch mount rack and strap on trunk rack. All these three have their pros and cons but we need to keep in mind that before buying we have to check them thoroughly for their functionality and usage. The strap-on is the simple one that can be available in the market at low cost but is somewhat least secure. The roof bicycle racks are considered as the most versatile but they are difficult to use because mounting the bike on e the roof top requires some help and also depends on the bike weight.
The last alternative is hitch mount that are specially designed for vans, SUVs and pickup trucks which is very easy to operate but is considered as expensive item when compared to other racks. Some of the truck racks can be used above the bed, allowing enough space for storage and others have special mounts that are sometimes attached to the rear ladders or rear mounted spare tires. If you want to have bike racks for cars to use it on temporary vehicles such as lease or rental cars then it is better to have strap on racks as they are not typically vehicle specific.
